Touching Two Worlds:
A Guide for Finding Hope in the Landscape of Loss

Grief is one of the few human certainties.

Yet most of us are terrible at grieving. We bury mom on Saturday and are back in the office by Tuesday.

In November of 2018, I lost my dad to esophageal cancer and six months later, my brother was lost to suicide. Like the neurologist who gets brain cancer or the autism specialist who gives birth to a child on the spectrum, I was granted the unwanted opportunity to use my own expertise on myself.

Touching Two Worlds helps modern people re-learn how to grieve. It is funny, moderately irreverent, and sad. It is also packed with suggestions and strategies.

Grief shouldn’t be reduced to symptoms that need an instant salve. It is a healing process to be honored. Yet all of us can use the gentle guidance of someone who has gone before, someone who can shine light on the darkest moments.

In Touching Two Worlds, I open the inner workings of my own grief and try to leave a navigational map for anyone trying to find their way in the aftermath of loss.

This book was published in July of 2022 with Sounds True.

Dr. Sherry Walling: Why I wrote this book

Touching Two Worlds Endorsements

“Touching Two Worlds communicates our mysterious human solidarity in pain - the intimate twins of grief and love, two sides of a coin. Dr. Sherry Walling has blessed those of us who are grieving. In these pages you will find empathy, honesty, hurt, and hope. The author offers a vulnerable and important in-the-moment vocabulary for those of us who are desperate in our grief in the context of our death-phobic society. I can only say thank you for this radical insight.”

Jerry White

Keeping Your Sh*t Together Book

THE ENTREPRENEUR’S GUIDE TO KEEPING YOUR SH*T TOGETHER

Running a business is hard

I teamed up with my husband (and favorite entrepreneur), Rob Walling to write a book that will make your life easier.

Between the two of us, we’ve pretty much seen it all (well, maybe not everything - but we’ve seen a lot). We’ve had conversations with thousands of entrepreneurs via:

our guide

We’ve seen the patterns that bring entrepreneurs down time and again. But we’ve also discovered the strategies, ideas, and techniques that have helped entrepreneurs like you triumph over the struggles of running a business.

And that’s what is in this book.

People seem to really like it. It was an Amazon best-seller and we’re pretty happy that it is out there in the world.

The second best time is now.’ I wish I had found this book and Sherry's work 20 years ago, but I'm grateful to have discovered Sherry's work recently. I really appreciate how approachable and insightful Sherry guides us on a journey improving mental health for entrepreneurs. The big takeaways are a lot of new understandings, great stories and case studies, but also practical tools and strategies to integrate.”

“A LONG OVERDUE GUIDE TO THE SPECIFIC STRESSORS AND SOLUTIONS OF BEING AN ENTREPRENEUR.”

“MUST READ FOR ALL ENTREPRENEURS, MICROPRENEURS AND SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS!”

“I was especially touched by chapter 7, as if the author was looking into my soul and speaking to me! The title speaks volumes “You get to be human, too” I often forget this and have to remind myself of this. Thank you for this book and the challenging words, ideas and thoughts shared. I could go on and on but I’ll leave it as a must read not only to learn how to survive but to be the best you possible as we live this crazy life!”
